2022.01.18 00:35 zaidrudyyy About to embark on my teaching journey. Feeling overwhelmed

So this will be my first year in the teaching field and also my first year in a uni ever.
I’ve been an accountant for 7 years and decided to make a career switch. Prior to that I attained my Bachelors degree through distance learning so I was never really a proper university environment.
I’ll be heading over to Adelaide to attend classes on campus next month. Im currently feeling overwhelmed because of all the things I need to do.
Mainly this thing called LANTITE and also getting health and safety certificates.
I was just wondering if I should register for LANTITE immediately and sit for it before my course starts. What do you guys think?
Also do you have any tips on how I could get all my bases covered to ensure everything is smooth and I don’t miss out on anything.

2022.01.18 00:35 Leela_bring_fire I'm finally in the black after 5 years of constantly being in overdraft.

I just wanted to share this for anyone else struggling with budgeting, the people who are always afraid to look at their bank statement because they know it's in the red already. That was, and still is a little bit, me.
All I did was finally sit down and force myself to make a real budget, not just a bunch of scribbles on a notepad with estimated expenses, but a real budget. I used gettothechopin's budget tool from the sub wiki because I've never liked apps like Mint and in general prefer to do things on my own.
Once I inputted all my numbers from my bank statements into the excel sheet, I realized I actually should've been able to save a lot more than I had been. I always thought I was really living paycheque to paycheque with maybe $50 to spare each month, but it turns out I am just absolutely terrible with money! I kind of knew that, but seeing the numbers right infront of me really showed me how frivolously I've been spending.
For me, it was spending too much on takeout, Amazon purchases, shopping at Shoppers more than No Frills, etc. I told myself that if I was ordering takeout instead of groceries, it equalled out anyway. It did not, lol. I told myself that I might as well pick up X from Shoppers while I'm there without thinking about how much money I would save getting most of the same products from the discount grocery stores instead.
My attitude has kind of been "well I'm broke anyway, might as well spend it while I can", but after really sitting down and looking at the numbers, I see that things are not as forlorn as I thought.
I am not good with money. My parents were not good with money. My brothers are not good with money. But for the first time, I feel like I'm starting to get a grip on things and can actually save, even if just for a rainy day.
I hope this can motivate others like me to finally take the leap and really BUDGET. This is my first month of staying in the black, and there's not a lot there, but it feels pretty damn good to not feel like if I lost my job right now I wouldn't be able to pay rent!

2022.01.18 00:35 biggestoof100 I’m starting to regret taking on extra hours at work

About a month ago, a long time coworker passed away. Because of this, I was asked if I would be willing to take on extra hours until we found someone else. I was only working four days and now I’m working five, which is not a huge jump but I’m starting to realize that maybe I shouldn’t have agreed to do it. I feel like I was somewhat guilted into doing it. My manager talked about how good of an opportunity was and claimed that very few people get to work full-time, so I felt like I deserved it because I’m a good employee. That being said, I can be a good employee without having to work a lot. I know that the five day work week is common and I should just suck it up but I don’t like feeling as if my time has been limited. I also volunteer and have a side hustle so those are on the back burner now, and I’m kind of regretting doing it. You shouldn’t have to work 40 hour weeks in order to feel like your life has some sense of purpose or that you can actually survive. I think it’s BS that you should have to work that much in order to meet your basic needs.

2022.01.18 00:35 TexPatriot68 First Kill with Handl loads.

Because it is impossible to find hunting ammo in 6.5 CM, I was literally down to my last 2 cartridges- 143g Precision Hunter. Now that I am a reloader, I was able to develop a similar load using 140 g Nosler Ballistic tips.
Saturday morning, just after sunrise, a big doe walked into range in front of my blind. Using my hand load, she dropped dead right there. It was a very rewarding feeling.
My reloads are on the right. Factory on left.
Once my current stash of factory ammo (308 and 243) runs out, I doubt I will use factory ammo to hunt with again.

2022.01.18 00:35 Aussie-girl2020 Experiences at work.

I am very interested in the paranormal, have had experiences since I was young, having a lot of stories to share. This one is about a place that I once worked at, I would love to hear anything that others may have had.

The suburb name of the last place I worked had a farm name, which meant that the area was named for the original farm that was there. The centre was developed as a shopping precinct with warehouse-sized shops, selling things such as furniture, having open land on two sides and a racecourse across the road.
From pretty early on I didn't feel comfortable about the place, was not helped when there was a murder in the street but I could not put my finger on it until I started having experiences. I prefered to eat my lunch outside behind our store, just to get away from people and started feeling that there was an angry or upset presence nearby. Had the definite feeling that it was a farmer who was upset with how his property was being treated, partly covered with buildings and concrete while over the fence it was overgrown and full of rubbish.
One day I was talking with a manager when something mist-like floated between us, turning my head to watch it dissipate, she wanted to know what I was doing. She hadn't seen anything and rolled her eyes when I tried describing it. Another manager mentioned hearing and feeling someone breathe down the back of her neck.
One evening another worker and I had closed the store, we were working through our duties when we both heard a noise in the store. I went to check if there was a customer still inside, was checking aisles from the main walkway when the noise happened again, between myself and my coworker who could not leave the open cash drawer. She yelled out asking if anyone was there, I heard a male voice answer her with a groan, had to check the area. I told her what had happened and she told me she was sure the place was haunted.
Noticed that he seemed to like to do this sort of thing often, every time I was alone closing the shop, the noises would start. One evening after doing my final walk around, finishing up the closing duties and collecting my bag, I came out of the staff only area to find a large stuff animal sitting in the middle of the main walkway facing me, uh I had walked that route minutes before. It was always terrifying turning the lights off because the switch was in the back corner of the store.
One day I decided enough was enough, that I was going to start talking to him. Started saying hello and goodbye, then one day I felt his presence behind me so asked for a name I heard "John" followed by the name of the suburb. I did not know the history of the area so looked it up and discovered that the original settler in the area was a farmer named John and the suburb is named after his property. From then on the frightening noises stopped, one evening I purposely left some items I was setting up on the floor and told John to move them if he could, the next morning they weren't in the same order that I had left them.

2022.01.18 00:35 Brilliant_Link6791 the recent episodes seems to have little to no blood

I know this sounds dumb but we are in a war where almost everyone has a weapon and there are swordsman who are supposed to slice each other. I know this is not a seinen but it looks like they are fighting with toys which makes their enemies unconcious instead of being killed. I want to see the soldiers die like how it was in marineford. Is the censorship that heavy.

2022.01.18 00:35 TabletopThirteen Solana withdrawal taking over 4 hours, what to do?

Usually when I transfer Solana from Kucoin to my Phantom wallet it takes all of a few minutes tops. This transaction says processing, doesn't have a TX hash, and it's been over 4 hours now. Where should I go from here? The Solana is still in my account. Should I try another transaction? Should I wait? I already missed the minting of one of the things I wanted the Solana for and I need the rest by tomorrow. I don't have as much experience with Solana as I do Binance so any insight would greatly help.
I also am getting 404 pages like every other Kucoin page I go to. It's been happening more and more over the last couple weeks.
